Plasma therapy with PRP – Natural regeneration for skin and hair

In my practice, I use modern plasma therapy, especially PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), specifically for microneedling treatments and to stimulate hair growth. This form of autologous blood therapy represents a biological, holistic approach in aesthetic medicine. Instead of introducing foreign substances into the body, we utilize its own regenerative power – highly concentrated, effective, and exceptionally well-tolerated.

In PRP therapy, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and processed using a special centrifugation method. This isolates the plasma and enriches it with a high concentration of platelets and the body's own growth factors. These growth factors play a central role in tissue repair and regeneration processes. The resulting platelet-rich plasma is then either injected directly into deeper layers of the skin or scalp, or superficially applied to the skin in combination with microneedling.

The decisive advantage of this therapy lies in its biological purity. Since only the body's own material is used, allergic reactions or intolerances are virtually impossible. The treatment is particularly safe, minimally invasive, and integrates perfectly into a modern, sustainable aesthetic concept. The skin is not artificially filled or masked, but rather its natural regeneration is supported and stimulated.

In the field of skin rejuvenation, PRP activates fibroblasts, thereby stimulating the body's own collagen and elastin production. The skin gains firmness, structure, and vitality. Fine lines can be softened, pores refined, and the overall complexion harmonized. A significant improvement in skin quality is particularly noticeable in dull, tired, or sun-damaged skin. PRP's regenerative properties can also contribute to a visible smoothing of acne scars or fine scar structures.

A particularly effective application is the combination of PRP with microneedling. During microneedling, fine needles create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These trigger a natural repair mechanism and stimulate the formation of new collagen. Simultaneously, temporary microchannels are created through which the applied PRP can penetrate deep into the skin. The superficial coating of the skin with plasma at this moment significantly enhances the regenerative effect. The growth factors reach the activated skin directly and specifically support healing and regeneration processes there. Regeneration time is often shortened, redness subsides more quickly, and the skin appears fresher and more vibrant after just a short time.

Besides its use in aesthetic skin treatments, PRP is playing an increasingly important role in the therapy of hair loss. Subcutaneous or intradermal injection of platelet-rich plasma into the scalp directly stimulates the hair follicles. The growth factors it contains improve blood circulation, prolong the growth phase of the hair, and activate dormant hair roots. Particularly in cases of androgenetic alopecia or diffuse hair loss, PRP can improve hair quality, slow hair loss, and positively influence hair density. This method has also proven effective as a supportive treatment after hair transplants, as it promotes healing and strengthens the vitality of the transplanted follicles.

Subcutaneous injection offers the advantage of precisely placing active ingredients where they are needed – directly at the hair follicle or in the dermis requiring regeneration. The high bioavailability ensures a targeted and lasting effect. In contrast, superficial application in combination with microneedling is particularly effective for broad-area skin regeneration and structural improvement. Both methods have their specific indications and are individually tailored to each patient's treatment goals in my practice.

For me, as an aesthetic practitioner, the naturalness of the result is paramount in every treatment. PRP makes it possible to activate the body's own self-healing powers and achieve lasting improvements without altering natural facial expressions or structure. The skin doesn't look "done," but healthy, vital, and regenerated. Similarly, with hair growth, the focus is not on artificial effects, but on strengthening existing structures and reactivating natural processes.

Plasma therapy with PRP is therefore far more than a trend. It is an integral part of modern regenerative aesthetics, combining scientific findings with a safe, biological treatment approach. The combination of subcutaneous injection and superficial application via microneedling allows for the development of individualized, holistic treatment concepts that sustainably improve both skin quality and hair structure.
